Happy new year everyone! Thank you, all my readers, for your continued reading and support this year. It has been such a fantastic year, sometimes a little out of control (in a good way) for my taste, but looking back, it was one of the best years I have lived so far. This is the first time that I feel like I am beginning to live my own life.
When I started this blog I wasn’t sure where life would take me. I remember struggling for quite some time, feeling stuck and helpless in my previous job with no outlet in sight. It physically made me sick. Which is why I started to practice yoga and suddenly a new world opened it’s doors. I remember my husband telling me at this point, “if you want something bad enough, you need to put it out in the universe, in order for the universe to answer you back.” That’s when we began The Food Yogi twitter and blog. Through yoga there was so much more I was learning about life and nutrition that I couldn’t keep it all to myself. I had to tell the world. Writing about these topics became a therapy when times were tough at work. The universe certainly answered me. After a time I was able to quit my job and focus on going back to school for a masters degree in nutrition. My life seemed to take off after this and I can’t believe how far I have come in the past year. I have now completed the first semester of my masters program.
When I stop to really think about all of this, it almost seems unreal – as if I am living someone else’s life, or at any moment I will wake up and realize this was all a dream. But when I pinch myself to realize I am alive, that’s the best feeling in the world. I don’t want to sound as if I am tooting my own horn but I feel accomplished and proud of myself. And I have this blog and you all, my readers, to thank for your continued reading and support. It means so much to me.
I am really looking forward to what 2014 has in store for all of us. I didn’t make any resolutions for this year but I decided to find something to celebrate each and every day.
January 1 – yay healthcare! 🙂Â
